It All Began with a Fire
In the late summer of 2021, our home was just half a mile from the Ptarmigan, Colorado wildfire. Flames were visible on our doorbell camera — and we weren’t even in town.
Born from necessity, Defense Delivered is Summit County’s first wildfire hardening company. We offer certified home hardening services and automated, remotely controllable (you can control your wildfire defense system from your phone) external sprinkler systems that offer insurance of your homes equity against wildfire destruction.
Our mission is to provide effective, state-of-the-art, and affordable wildfire protection. With our free assessment, building owners gain a clear understanding of how to reduce wildfire risk and protect their most valuable asset.
Phillip Dolamore — Chairman
Phillip Dolamore is a lifelong entrepreneur with more than 40 years of business experience and the founder of two successful technology companies. After retiring to Hamilton Creek, Colorado, the nearby Ptarmigan Fire brought the growing threat of wildfire close to home.
Seeing firsthand the vulnerability of mountain communities—and the challenge of protecting individual homes during a fast-moving wildfire—Phillip was motivated to find a better way to protect his home, his neighbors, and ultimately other wildfire-exposed communities. That experience became the catalyst for Defense Delivered and its mission to provide practical, technology-driven wildfire protection.
Meet our Wildfire Defense Team Founders
Duston Dolamore — Founder & President
Duston Dolamore is a founder and President of Defense Delivered, where he leads product development, system design, and field deployment of the company’s wildfire protection technology.
A graduate of Snowy Peaks High School in Summit County, Colorado, Duston earned a degree in Business from Florida Atlantic University and brings experience in product development and retail distribution. He is a Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist with hands-on expertise in computer-aided design (CAD), system engineering, site-specific design, and installation. He is a licensed contractor in Summit, Eagle and other mountain communities.
Combining technical capability with practical field experience, Duston has played a central role in developing Defense Delivered’s technology from concept into a scalable wildfire protection system for homes, communities, and critical infrastructure.
Nick Christiansen — Founder and Chief Information Officer
Nick Christiansen is Chief Information Officer and the lead software architect behind Defense Delivered’s intelligent wildfire protection platform.
A graduate of Summit High School in Summit County, Colorado, Nick earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and is an accomplished software developer and systems engineer. He designed and developed the proprietary software and integrated hardware architecture that powers the Defense Delivered platform.
Nick’s work integrates satellite-based wildfire intelligence, multiple thermal cameras, environmental and lightning detection, remote communications, automated decision-making, and manual override capabilities into a single coordinated system. His ability to bridge sophisticated software development with real-world hardware and field operations has been instrumental in transforming Defense Delivered from a physical wildfire protection system into an intelligent, autonomous protection platform powered by IOS and Android applications.
Amber Smith — Chief Operating Officer
Amber Smith serves as Chief Operating Officer of Defense Delivered, bringing more than a decade of experience in the contracting industry, where she managed complex operations across multiple states.
Since joining Defense Delivered, Amber has been instrumental in building the operational foundation needed to support the company’s growth. She oversees day-to-day operations, project coordination, contractor and installer relationships, compliance, scheduling, and the processes that take projects from initial planning through installation and completion.
Her combination of contracting experience, organizational leadership, and hands-on project management helps ensure that Defense Delivered can deliver consistent, professional installations as the company expands into new markets and larger-scale residential, commercial, and community wildfire protection projects.
Graham Dolamore — VP, Government Affairs
Graham Dolamore serves as Manager of Government Affairs for Defense Delivered, supporting the company’s engagement with state and local governments, regulatory agencies, water authorities, fire districts, and other public-sector stakeholders.
A graduate of Summit High School in Colorado, Graham earned his degree in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University. His Colorado roots and academic background provide a strong foundation for his work advancing wildfire resilience initiatives and helping communities evaluate innovative approaches to structure and community protection.
Garry Briese is a director of Defense Delivered the former Executive Director of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs, representing and supporting the senior leadership of the nearly 400 fire departments across Colorado. Garry is a principal in the professional services and consulting company Briese Associates LLC, established in 2002.
He serves on the corporate Board of Directors of WS Darley Company, an international manufacturer & distributor of military and emergency services. He is a Senior Advisor to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network, a member of the Board of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation, and Editorial Advisory Board of Fire Rescue One, a leading digital media company. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Emergency Preparedness Partnership, working with the private sector to increase business disaster resiliency. Garry served on the State of Colorado’s Homeland Security & All-Hazards Senior Advisory Committee from 2016 to 2021.
Susan Friedlander Calzone is a Strategic Advisor of Defense Delivered and a Consulting Partner with ERA Group, an accomplished CEO, President, COO, and Board Director with more than 40 years of experience helping organizations improve performance, accelerate growth, and strengthen financial results. She has led enterprise transformation initiatives across technology, financial services, philanthropy, consulting, healthcare, nonprofit, and professional services organizations.
Prior to joining ERA Group, Susan served as CEO of Foundation Source, where she led a significant business transformation that increased revenue, improved profitability, strengthened organizational effectiveness, and positioned the company for a successful sale. Earlier, she spent nearly two decades as Chief Administrative Officer of Bloomberg L.P., reporting directly to Michael Bloomberg and helping scale the company from approximately 50 employees to more than 7,500 worldwide while overseeing global operations, procurement, customer service, human resources, facilities, legal, and supply chain functions.
